̽»¨¾«Ñ¡work is an important part of the learning process here at Manor CE Academy. The two key purposes of setting homework are:
Students will receive regular homework in English, maths, science, MFL lessons and art and design technology. They will also be set extended project work in humanities subjects. Theses extended projects are timetabled so that they receive one project task per month; you will find details of the timetable in student planners.
You will find the way we set homework for GCSE courses different to the way it is set at Key Stage 3.
The nature of GCSE courses means that some tasks, such as Controlled Assessments can only take place in the classroom meaning there might be little homework while they are taking place.
At other times students may be asked to do a significant piece of project work or revision at home over an extended period of time, meaning key skills such as independent planning and organisation will be needed.
Teachers expect all homework to be handed in on time; if this does not happen sanctions will follow. If a pattern of non-completion of homework emerges, class teachers or Directors of Learning will contact home.
